Twitter Applies a New Policy in the Fight Against Financial Fraud

Fraud is widespread on any social network with hundreds of millions of users, and Twitter is not far from these practices, so it updated the policy of using the service with respect to financial fraud.

Previously, suspicious practices were reported as spamming or annoying advertisements, but today there are clear details of what is banned on Twitter related to financial matters.

The new Twitter policy states that users are prohibited from creating fake accounts or accounts that they claim to be public figures or companies.

It is prohibited to deceive others by asking for money or personal financial information such as credit card information and account numbers.

The monument is prohibited by promising to return small amounts received in larger amounts later in any way.

It is also prohibited to create accounts and manage fraudulent debits so that payment is made with stolen credit cards. Of course, phishing is prohibited by pretending to be a bank and asking for financial information about users.

Infringing content can be reported via the Twitter app or its website via the It's suspicious or spam option, and the social network will, among other things, include the links posted in the tweets off the list of prohibited and delete the tweets and pause accounts or permanent suspension.

Twitter has seen a 16% drop in reporting this year thanks to its policies to fight offensive tweets.
