Facebook Stops Feature Stories in Groups less than a year after launch

It seems that the stories feature within the groups on Facebook did not get the desired popularity of users during the last period, to come the company and decided to stop it less than a year after the launch of users. It has already set September 26 as the date to completely turn off the feature, which will remove any previous additions from users and prevent the addition of new stories of course.

The company said in a statement to CENT, that the goal of the feature was to ensure that users enjoy the groups on the platform more.

But it seems that users and group managers did not find it as attractive as the company had hoped, shutting it down for lack of use.

This step makes sense, as a small percentage of the groups use stories as their publishing option.

Turning off stories about groups has nothing to do with the basic feature of stories on user accounts, as stories will remain part of the benefits of personal accounts on the platform and anyone can share with friends but not with groups.

Facebook launched the feature for everyone last December , but nearly nine months after the launch, it decided to shut it down.
