Sony announces the departure of the head of PlayStation Studios

After nearly 30 years at Sony, Sean Leiden, head of PlayStation Studios, decided to leave.

Sony has announced the departure of one of the most important figures in the development of games and devices since its inception, with the departure of Sean Leiden, the current president of the PlayStation Entertainment and Interactive Studios, after a long career in the company amounted to 32 years through which he was able to work as an assistant to the co-founder of Sony, Akio Morita has since developed the entire gaming division since the launch of the PlayStation in the 1990s.

Sean Leiden took his first senior position in the company's gaming division by appointing him as a producer at Sony Studios in 1996.

He continued to take up positions until he became head of the company's entertainment and gaming studios globally in 2014.

The company that controls most of the global gaming market has not released details about Leiden's decision to leave, whether it is the actual time of departure or the person who will compensate him, or even if he will hold another position in the company in a different department.


The decision comes just months before the launch of the new generation of the PlayStation gaming platform, which is expected to be launched in 2020.
